Johor Bahru or 'JB' is a new place for me. I was posted here for my gazzetment and service since Dec 2008. Never being here before and never ever thought of being here, I was expecting more from JB in term of facilities for family activities as it is known as the 3rd largest city in Malaysia after KL and Penang. However, after 2 months of being several times to the Danga Bay and few times to the Zoo (again, again and... again), I got bored.....I missed KL.As I was grown up in Negeri Sembilan and very close to KL, my kids and I missed all the fun of the beautiful Port Dickson beaches especially the Blue lagoon (aka Tanjung Tuan... it belongs to state of Malacca), besides the Sunway Lagoon and Desa Water Park in KL.
And I got very upset everytime my kids threw their long faces at me to ask for a swim and get wet. So, i went asking....until someone told me about Starhill.
No, no, no.... it is not the infamous Bukit Bintang that we are talking about. I am talking about Starhill, a golf and country club. It is located at the north of JB just 1 kms from the PLUS highway exit at Kempas. It has a small water theme park suitable for families activities and for those who are looking to get wet during the hot shiny day. I guess this is the only kewl place to get wet in JB as Pantai Lido is sadly heavyly poluted.It is only open for public from 9.00am to 4.00pm daily. Thereafter, it only opens for members. For non-members to get wet, you have to pay rm 15 for adult and rm 8 for children aged more than 3 years old during the weekend and public holidays. Of course the price would be less during the working days. Anyway, who has the time to get wet during the working days!?
